What to Do in Toronto When You're Bored

It's a random afternoon, you're bored, and nothing's planned. Here's a quick list of things you can actually do in Toronto right now — most of them free or close to it.

Just go for a walk somewhere new

If you've never wandered through Kensington Market or the Distillery District without a plan, that's the move — both are full of small shops, street art, and places to grab a snack. The Martin Goodman Trail along the waterfront is another easy "just walk and see what happens" option.

Check if it's a free museum night

The ROM is free on the third Tuesday evening of the month, and the AGO is free every Wednesday evening. If today happens to line up, that's an instant plan — see our full museum night schedule to check.

Head to a park

Trinity Bellwoods Park and High Park are both reliable for last-minute hangouts — bring a snack, find a bench, and you've got a plan. High Park's free zoo is also a fun curveball if you've got an hour to kill.

Browse a market

St. Lawrence Market is open most days and is worth a wander even if you're not buying anything — the food stalls alone are an experience. Evergreen Brick Works is a bit further out but worth it if you want trails plus a market vibe.

Grab something cheap near campus

If you're a student and just want food plus people, check our budget hangout spots guide for reliable cheap eats near U of T, TMU, and York.
